Did you know that CCNC is a non profit organization? Let’s talk non profit organizations a little bit for those who want to know more!
Non profits have a mission, bylaws, and a vision that they abide by daily to achieve the organization’s goals. At CCNC, our mission is to conserve our land and teach conservation education! That has been our mission for 30+ years, and many people from our community have volunteered lots of time and effort to support this mission.
Non profits have a Board of Trustees and elected officials from that board to help make decisions that align with the mission.
Also, non profits financially function off of donations, memberships, fundraisers, sponsorships and grants. They are individual entities and do not get financial support from federal, state, or city governments.
At CCNC, we are financially supported by our wonderful members who pay annual membership fees, business sponsors who receive tax write offs for their donations, our fundraising events, such as Deck the Trails, and grants that we apply for.
Our goal at the end of each year is to have our income and expenses come out evenly.
At CCNC, we use our income to maintain a building, pay staff members, and maintain our grounds. We use awarded grant funds for conservation education, conservation projects, and land maintenance.
If you want to support CCNC this new year but don’t have time to volunteer, consider other ways you could make an impact! Make a small donation each time you walk our trails using the QR codes on the grounds, buy an annual membership from our website, make a donation on behalf of your business, and / or come to our fundraising events.
We appreciate our continued support from our community to carry out our mission. We are so excited about this year! And we can’t wait to experience with you. Join us today and help make a difference!
