Plant Native
Plant Native Project:
Our Plant Native Project is one of the oldest projects here at CCNC. We sell native plants at seasonal sales each year. Over the years, we have planted many native plants throughout our property, and we have a screenhouse that supports our Native Plant Nursery.
Last year, we kicked off our Native Plant Nursery’s growing program with a Propagation Workshop in partnership with Mississippi Native Plant Society. Our goal is to educate the community about the benefits of using native plants and to provide plants grown right here at the center.

To support our nursery’s sustainability, we are utilizing grant funding to install a water catchment system, ensuring an eco-friendly approach to watering and plant care. Additionally, we are intentionally landscaping and planting native species in our Price Hall beds to serve as a model for the community, demonstrating how native plants can create beautiful, low-maintenance, and environmentally beneficial spaces.
We’re also looking for dedicated volunteers to help support and expand this effort.

White Oak bare root saplings:
Did you know that white oak trees are some of the most valuable trees for wildlife? These magnificent trees provide food and shelter for over 500 species of butterflies and moths, including the beloved Luna Moth! Their acorns are a feast for birds like blue jays, woodpeckers, and wild turkeys, while their sturdy branches and lush canopy offer homes for countless creatures.
Now, you can bring this powerhouse of biodiversity to your own yard AND support the Clinton Community Nature Center!
We are offering White Oak tree bare root seedlings in a “Pay-What-You-Want” fundraiser—you choose your donation amount, and in return, you’ll receive a young White Oak to plant and nurture. Every tree planted strengthens our local ecosystem and provides a lasting legacy for future generations.
